what is more groundbreaking is that in the structural characterization of polystyrene/montmorillonite, polyethylene terephthalate/montmorillonite and other nanocomposites, they accidentally found that these systems showed liquid crystal behavior and self-assembly, while polystyrene and polyethylene glycol formate and montmorillonite did not have liquid crystal and did not show liquid crystal behavior respectively. This result has been discovered and confirmed by Chinese scholars for the first time in the world. This discovery breaks through the existing liquid crystal molecular structure theory and has important scientific significance for enriching and developing the liquid crystal polymer theory and the confined space polymer condensate theory
